Our oceans provide us with a diverse range of culinary flavours, ingredients and sensory experiences for seafood dishes. Diving deeper, however, our oceans provide us with much more such as vital sources of oxygen, energy and nutrients – basically all life on Earth relies on healthy oceans.
Oceans are under threat from human-related activities, including overfishing and destruction of marine habitat. As chefs we recognize our shared responsibility to turn the tide. The time is now to act.
Chefs and culinary leaders have an opportunity to become Ocean Champions. Through our menu choices, our purchasing decisions and accessibility to educate our customers, peers and staff, we are in a unique position to help ensure healthy oceans.
We encourage chefs to become a seafood Champion for our oceans.
